Time ripe for achieving Telangana, says KCR

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday called upon the voters to vote for the TRS to achieve separate statehood for Telangana. He termed the elections as a fight between Telangana and anti-Telangana forces and urged the voters to show the pride of the region.

“The time is ripe for achieving our goal. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu, who changed his stand on the issue time and again, said that the government of Grand Alliance would take political and legal steps for the formation of a separate State.

Vote for the Grand Alliance to restore the respect of the people of Telangana,” he appealed to the voters at a series of meetings held in Medak district.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao made a whirlwind tour on a chopper in the district addressing public meetings at Dubbak, Narayanakhed, Kohir and Sangareddy. Though the attendance of public was good at all the places, it was a flop show at district headquarters.

Coming down heavily against AICC president Sonia Gandhi, the TRS president said that the Congress had been trying to cheat the people once again.

“Why had the Congress kept silent during the past five years if it had no objection to carving out Telangana State?” He said protecting the interests of the region would be possible only if a separate State was formed.

Suspended

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said that the confusion was cleared at Sangareddy as the TDP had suspended rebel party leader Chinta Prabhakar from the party who had got the party symbol in elections.
