Is Jr NTR going to join in congress?

NTR wanted to show that his donation is more than Mega Power family ( Ramcaharn-10 lacs and Bunny Rs5 lacs), and if he donates these Rs20 lacs to NTR trust , he may not get sufficient publicity.

NTR Jr has donated Rs 20 Lakhs to CM relief fund on 6th of October to help the flood victims.

Before coming to hand over the cheque to CM at secretariat, NTR went to Lake View Guest house and met KVP Ramchandar Rao and had a hour long discussion with KVP .

Bow this has become a bid discussion in film circles and political circles.NTR could have given this donation to NTR trust which is already helping the relief operation of flood victims. What made him to go to CM? h Is he moving towards Congress? What was the discussion between KVP and NTR at Lake View Guest House.

What made KVP to come in NTR's car up to secretariat and to meet CM? How TDP is reacting to this incident?

Heroine Slept With Minister?

This is the grapevine that is making rounds in film circuit. This is the secret of a small time actor turned damn rich all of a sudden and turned a big producer now. He is making films with many big heroes and presently a film is on floors with a hero who gave a hit to Tollywood in recent times. Sources say that the actor turned producer helped a minister in real estate deals and eventually became affluent. Adding to this the actor also served the minister by making a heroine sleep with him frequently. The heroine was paid huge amounts and the guy has developed strong rapport with the minister there by earning big in real estate. The only actor who developed in bigger way in last five years from zero to hundreds of crores is none other than that small time actor.

Prostitution In Front Of Ministers' Eyes

There was a time when dark trades like prostitution had their own code of conduct and they made sure that families and general public are not affected by it. But now, all that seems to have gone down the drain and ironically, it is happening right in front of the Ministers.

Apparently, the famous Lumbini Park opposite Secretariat has become a hot spot for prostitutes and given the huge rushes of family crowds that come there, they are said to be having tough time with the prostitutes making their presence and carrying on with their acts without a hitch.

This thing has become so popular that even the famous Sakshi channel came up with a 30 minutes special program. Many have been complaining that the levels of decency are being crossed and it is sad to note that all this is happening right in front of the secretariat, the home for the ministers.

The situation has been the same even during TDP government and the Congress is also not taking any steps to curb these indecent and illegal activities in public. Sources at Lumbini also say that police are getting their ‘maamoollu’ and hence they keep quiet despite knowing everything that happens here.

Nagarjuna's Investments In YS Jagan's Business?

While the recent election has given many revelations, the one thing that raised the curiosity of the public and the political circles is the bonding between Yuvasamrat Nagarjuna and the Congress party. Given his indirect yet effective promotion for YSR and his rule, many believe that Nag has got strong links with the Congress party.

Now, another grapevine has been making strong rounds. It is heard that Nag has actually got into a business partnership with none other than Y S Jagan and has got a fair share of his investments in Jagan’s businesses and establishments and also his expansion plans.

However, those who are associated with Nag quash this as baseless rumors and add that the star has got enough on his hand to take care of so he wouldn’t get into something more. But then, inside sources strongly believe that there is an association between Nag and Jagan. This could be interesting and the near future may see some intersting news about their business partnership, say sources.

TRS rebel has video clippings on KCR

Rebel Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader H A Rehman has claimed that he has video recording of the illegal activities of party president K Chandrasekhara Rao.

Rehman threatened to expose the “video clippings” at an appropriate time, if KCR does not step down as party president. “I served KCR more than his son. I was with him at every stage. I know all the in and outs of his activities. And I have the video clippings against KCR. I will expose real face of KCR at an appropriate time,” he said.

The TRS rebel said the time was not far off when people of Telangana captured the Telangana Bhavan sooner or later. “He has to quit the Telangana Bhavan. Otherwise, we will occupy it one day,” he said.

Did MLA rape the students?

The case of Telugu Desam Party MLA from Kovvur T V Rama Rao is taking interesting turns day after the day.

Five Kerala girls, who deposed before Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy, CID authorities and State Human Rights Commission on Saturday, did not mention anything about rape and murder by TVR. All that they said in their complaint was that TVR used to pass sexual overtures towards them and tried to molest one of them. They refused to undergo any medical examination, as there were no allegations of any rape.

However, on Sunday, the girls changed their version. In their memorandum to Governor N D Tiwari, they alleged that the MLA sexually abused them under coercion. If that is the case, the allegation of rape against the MLA will have to be proved; and the girls will have to undergo medical examination. If that happens and the guilt is proved, it will be tough for Rama Rao to get out of the case.

YSR patches up Manda and bank staff

Finally, it was Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who had to intervene and bring a compromise between Nagarkurnool Congress MP Dr Manda Jagannatham and employees of rural banks in the state on Sunday.

The Chief Minister summoned Jagannatham and representatives of the AP Rural Banks Association to Begumpet airport (from where YSR was to fly to East Godavari district) and asked them to arrive at a compromise. He pulled up Jagannatham in front of the association leaders for slapping Ravinder Reddy, manager of AP Grameena Vikas Bank of Uppununthala branch in Mahbubnagar district on Monday last. “This is not the way to get work from the bank officials. If you have any complaint against any banker, you should take it up with appropriate authorities, but you cannot take law into your hands,” he said.

The Chief Minister also appealed the bank association members not to precipitate the matter further. Following his appeal, Jagannatham and association leaders shook hands and decided to close the issue. While tendering an open apology to the bank officials, the Congress MP agreed to withdraw the case filed against Ravinder Reddy under SC/ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act. The bankers also agreed to withdraw the case of filed against Jagannatham for assaulting an official on duty.

Lok Satta takes TDP to task

Perhaps for the first time since its inception, the Lok Satta Party activists took to streets on a political issue – not against the ruling Congress, but against the fellow-opposition party, the Telugu Desam Party.

Taking serious objection to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s allegation that the Lok Satta was nothing but a pocket organisation of the Congress and that its candidates were sponsored financially by Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, Lok Satta activists staged a dharna in front of the NTR Trust Bhavan, the headquarters of the TDP, and demanded that Naidu take back his words. The TDP activists, too, made a counter dharna, leading to a clash between the two parties and they raised slogans against each other.

The LSP leaders said that far from being chastened by the electoral debacle and mending its ways, the TDP seemed to regard the electoral arena as its sole preserve. “A mature political party in a democracy should humbly accept the people’s verdict instead of trying to find scapegoats in other parties or blame the voters themselves. Perhaps they believe in single-party democracy,” they said.

Referring to the allegation that the Lok Satta seemed to have a secret understanding with the Congress since it did not field candidates against the Chief Minister and his son in the Pulivendula Assembly and Kadapa Lok Sabha seats respectively, the Lok Satta leaders dubbed it as not only baseless but also malicious. The party did field Mr. Gudipati Prasanna Kumar to contest against the Chief Minister’s son in the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat. Despite its best efforts, the party could not find candidates in 45 Assembly and 10 Lok Sabha seats.

Pulivendula and Kuppam happened to be among Assembly seats where the party could not locate suitable candidates. The party allocated the Kuppam seat to the Backward Classes United Front which had come forward to field a candidate.

KCR resorts to media bashing again

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao is an incorrigible politician. Inspite of series of debacles in the elections and revolts within the party, he has never tried to change himself, but sticks to his old histrionics.

The TRS president, who suddenly landed in Karimnagar district on Saturday for reasons known only to him, has blamed it on the media for the so-called “dissidence” in the party. “Everything is fine in the TRS. There is absolutely no dissidence and everybody is working under my leadership. It is only the media, which is giving too much importance to some unscrupulous elements who were kicked out of the party, and describing their activity as dissidence,” he said.

The TRS president’s statement only reflects his frustration. He knows that what is happening within the party will lead to his fall one day or the other. That is why, he is trying to put up a brave front.

Politics In Heroine Bhoomika's Company

She is known as the glowing beauty of the Telugu circuit and her roles have been symbols of justice and equal treatment to all. However, her real life personality seems to be offering something else. We are talking about the fresh looking married heroine Bhoomika Chawla.

The buzz is that there are severe north Indian politics in the office of her film magazine Mayanagar. Apparently, the office of the magazine is said to have a special preference to north Indians and south Indians are being given the second preference as per inside sources. This practice is going on despite the magazine needs Telugu crew to run the show.

Many say that Bhoomika’s real success has been in Telugu only but then if she is still keen on promoting the North folks then they are saying that she can better shift back to the Hindi arena. Dissent is said to have been growing up due to this unfair biased approach, say few associated with her ventures.

Chiru pushes CR to react on budget

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi has done a clever thing in not reacting on the Union budget presented by Pranab Mukherjee on Monday.

Apparently realising that his ignorance would be exposed, if he comes before the media to comment on the budget, Chiranjeevi asked his senior party leader C Ramachandraiah to give the party’s reaction. And Ramachandraiah, who was two-time MP and an expert on economic affairs, could explain how the budget was disappointing. “Though there were some schemes for the common man, it was not mentioned how the government would mobilise funds for the same,” he said.

The PRP president still needs to take a lot of lessons on political and economic affairs. It is better he remain silent till such time.

Naidu challenges JP for open debate

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu does not seem to end the controversy over his remarks against Lok Satta Party president Dr Jayaprakash Narayan.

Naidu challenged JP to come for an open debate on the allegations that there was a nexus between the Congress and the Lok Satta. He sought to know whether there were any occasions when JP had made any serious allegations against the Congress. “People have to know whether or not the Lok Satta had indirectly benefited the Congress in the elections,” he said.

The TDP president said it was nothing but natural for a political party to analyse whether the presence of any other party in the electoral fray had scuttled its chances of coming to power. “Some of our candidates brought to my notice that they had lost because of the presence of Lok Satta. We were only discussing the issue. What was the need for the Lok Satta activists to stage dharnas on this?” he asked.

Chiru ready to act again

The actor turned politician Chiranjeevi had stated some time back that he was quitting films for good. He said that he would dedicate the rest of his life in social service.Chiranjeevi now seems to be having a change of heart. After several speakers at the audio launch ceremony of Magadheera asked Chiranjeevi to act in films once again, he seems to have been tempted to make a come back. Chiranjeevi said that he did not rule out the idea completely. He said that he does not known what lay ahead but he may act once again in future. The message from Chiru was clear to all his fans wait for some more time and then I will make a comeback.

PRP, TDP pick holes in speech

The Praja Rajyam party chief, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, said that the development which the Congress is boasting about has not reached the poor. Describing the Governor’s speech in the Assembly as an “eye-wash”, Mr Chiranjeevi demanded an answer from the ruling party for the rising prices of essential commodities and about 7,500 farmers suicides in the last five years.

“If the Congress is really confident about development, it should also explain why rice costs Rs 35 a kg and why farmers are still continuing to commit suicide. The Governor’s speech did not focus on the real issues of the people,” Mr Chiranjeevi said.

The Telugu Desam leader, Mr P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Mr Ravula Chandrasekar Reddy, Mr Nagam Janardan Reddy were surprised that the Women’s Reservation Bill was not mentioned in the Governor’s speech.

Is Congress using Chiranjeevi to checkmate Chandrababu?

If Chiranjeevi’s recent actions are any indication one is sure to get this feeling. For instance, Chiranjeevi announced on Friday that the PRP would not contest from Tekkali. Chiranjeevi said this had to be viewed as a mark of respect for the deceased Congress MLA, who died before he could even administer the oath. This humanitarian gesture however was misinterpreted even by his party members. “Though it was a good gesture it would have been politically prudent for us to wait for the Congress to make the first move and then announce it,” said a Praja Rajyam MLA. On its part the Congress is delighted by the megastar’s gesture. Top advisers of the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, have already drawn up a strategy to counter the TD chief through Mr. Chiranjeevi. “He should cut into the TD base more than what he did in the elections for us to be comfortable in the coming local body polls,” said a senior minister of the ruling party

Chiranjeevi wants Speaker to function like an ''umpire''

Praja Rajyam Party(PRP) debutant in politics Chiranjeevi today urged new Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy to act like an ''umpire'' during debates between ruling and opposition parties and facilitate more discussion on issues related to people.

''I came to know that you are a very good wicket-keeper in Cricket. I want you to be a good umpire in the House,'' the actor-turned-politician said in his maiden speech in the Assembly, sending the House into peals of laughter. Chiranjeevi is his party's floor leader.

Suggesting that the Speaker must exhibit sportsman spirit in the House, he urged allocation of more time for the Opposition to reflect the people's aspirations in the House.

The PRP had extended its support to Mr Reddy's candidature as Speaker,to continue the tradition of unanimous election to the post, he explained.

Expressing hope that the Speaker would be ''unbiased'' in his conduct, he compared the ruling and opposition benches to two wheels of a cart which had to function in a coordinated manner.

Chiranjeevi the MLA!

Chiranjeevi was the star attraction on the inaugural day of the 13th assembly session in Hyderabad. The actor-turned politician was welcomed warmly by the ruling and the opposition party members alike. When Chiranjeevi met Babu in the assembly corridor he smiled and welcomed him and inquired about his lunch arrangements. Babu gave him a terse and short reply with a forced smile. Chiranjeevi was later seen smiling and talking with Jayasudha. The two former actors shared a warm rapport even in their earlier professions. Chiranjeevi once again reassured the media that he will only indulge in constructive criticism and will not resort to wastage of assembly time. The other attraction was J C Diwakar Reddy in the unusual role of a protem speaker. Kiran Kumar Reddy was elected unopposed. The TDP’s much awaited challenge of his nomination simply did not materialize.

Chiru to talk to TD deserters

The Praja Rajyam chief, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, is trying to thwart the plans of the Telugu Desam, which is reportedly wooing its former leaders who are now in the PRP. Several former TDP leaders like, Mr T. Devender Goud, Tammineni Seetaram, Kala Venkata Rao, C. Ramachandraiah, Kotagiri Vidyadhara Rao, Bhooma Nagireddy, Sobha Nagireddy, Kottapalli Subbarayudu, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and others had joined the PR before the elections. However, only Sobha Nagireddy and Ganta Srinivasa Rao emerged victorious while others lost the polls.

The former TD leaders played a key role in defeating the TD in many districts even though they could not win on the PR tickets. For instance, Mr K. Yerrannaidu, was defeated in Srikakulam after several leaders shifted their loyalties.

Now, the TD leadership is reportedly sending feelers to them indicating that they had no objection if they rejoined the party. The PR leaders fear that the TD was planning to weaken the former so that the latter continues to be a strong Opposition in the next five years. Mr Chiranjeevi, who returned from Chennai, convened a meeting with the former TD leaders on Sunday and discussed the issue with them.

PRP worried about losing senior members

The last two days have been abuzz with rumors that the TDP is getting in touch with leaders who had quit its party and moved into the PRP. According to sources close to the PRP senior leaders like Kala Venkat rao, Thammineni Sitaram, Bhuma Nagi Reddy and Devender Gould have received phone calls from Chandrababu Naidu asking them to return to their mother party. In this context, Allu Arvind has reportedly called in all those leaders for a meeting at his residence and is reported to have assured them that their services will be needed and much appreciated in the party. On their part Thamineni Sitaram dismissed all these rumors as mere media speculation and assured that they will continue to be with the PRP and play a vital role in the opposition. He reiterated that the meeting in Allu Arvind’s residence was scheduled earlier and this topic was never discussed.

Chiranjeevi’s fan commits suicide unable to bear defeat

Megastar Chiranjeevi, who once dreamt to become a Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, had a worst Saturday of his life on 16th May, 2009. He expected at least 140 seats in the elections and also predicted a thumping victory of Praja Rajyam in 2009 elections.

But all his dreams were shattered as the PR party could not even manage 1/4th of the seats in the elections. As soon as Megastar heard about his defeat, he immediately was in a depressed state. It is reported that he cried before god for almost 10 minutes and his wife was seen consoling him on phone. Chiranjeevi’s die hard fan Narayana Giri committed suicide on Sunday in East Godavari district. He was 35 years old and due to the shocking defeat of megastar stepped into this heinous act. He may get a compensation of Rs 4 lakhs from the megastar.

Meanwhile, the reason for his defeat is said to be his followers. Allu Arvind is being criticized from the beginning for his cheap politics shown on the PR leaders. Dr. Mitra was a bakra in the party without much importance. Naga Babu though tried to consolidate some of his elder brother’s mistakes; he could not create any impact on the voters during the last phase of campaign.

Cine Actor Pawan Kalyan was like a drunken monkey in the whole group. Thanu Chedindhi Kaka, Ayina Anna Chiranjeevi image chedagottadu. The leaders who were offered the tickets for money were either fit for nothing’s in their respective constituencies or were jumping Jacks from the opposition.

Now, comes the hot news. It is gossiped that Chiranjeevi is going to face even more ire days from the Chief Minister Rajshekar reddy. All his family members, supporters and his brothers are being scanned for various reasons by close sources of CM Rajshekar reddy. The first target will be to end the cinema income of the whole family. Pawan kalyan and Naga Babu will face some dull days ahead with their films tagged as Flops. Chiranjeevi will be sitting in the assembly as a dull leader. Roshiah is said to use some derogatory words against Chiranjeevi in the coming assembly seating.

Budding Stars like Allu Arjun and Ram Charan will also face a tough period during the term of Congress party.

On the whole, Chiranjeevi ika nee brathuku bus-stand ye! If you re-enter film world also, your value will no longer remain the same.

You’re Daughter Srija, your Brother in law Allu Arvind, and your younger brother Pawan Kalyan are said to be your black remarks in your political career.

'Praja Rajyam' Movie Review

Geetha Arts magnum opus movie produced by Allu Aravind has failed to reach expectations of audience. Here is a brief review of the movie -

Banner: Geetha Arts
Producer: Allu Aravind
Directed by: Mitra
Cast: Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Nagendra Babu. (Allu Arjun and Ram Charan guest roles)
Writers: Paruchuri Brothers
Parental Guidance: Some obcene language by Posani and Shobha Rani

Story: The title cards are played for too long with Allu Aravind telling people to wait for the train. Finally the said train arrives and the party is launched in Tirupathi with a solo number by Chiranjeevi.
The initial response in theaters is terrific and the story starts to unfold. The movie gets boring in the first half with no punch dialogues by Chiranjeevi and same old stale lines of Paruchuri Brothers. The dialogue “Ganji Benji” got good response from audience but being a serious movie, the audience were expecting to see some intelligent lines about themselves, not the hero. As we start to doze off listening to the same old cliched lines, things start getting serious when the slums in Bheem Rao wada are vacated by ruling party politicians to build party office.

Interval bang: Pawan Kalyan erects vinyls of ruling party leaders in the middle of road and makes controversial remarks about all of them. Lot of whistles in theater and everybody is back on track.

The movie becomes interesting all of a sudden. Provoked by village ex sarpanch CBN, school teacher Roja makes remarks on Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. Chiranjeevi’s assistant Shobha Rani and house servant Posani lash out at Roja and she lashes right back at them. Things get real ugly and the village people are surprised by the beautiful language these guys are using to get at each other. Chiranjeevi declines to apologize for the behavior of his assistant. The ex sarpanch is also quite on the issue. Much to the audience’s relief, we have Pawan Kalyan and Renu Desai’s wedding and a brief melody song follows.

After a lot of drama, finally the election dates are announced. As the story proceeds towards climax, we see some twists when friends like Parakala leave the party and start telling everybody that it is not a party but a company owned by Chiranjeevi and Allu Aravind.

There is a side thread running with Allu Arvind playing full fledged detective as opposed to detective’s assistant in Chantabbai. In this movie he is trying to find who the two coverts are. He knows the exact number of coverts but he cannot identify who they are. The character of Allu Arvind is confusing as he does comedy some times saying they will win 292 seats, does drama by challenging dasari to come to Anakapalli and plays the villain to party cadre and hero’s fans of 30 years.

Right before climax, there is confusion as to who is going to stay till the end and who is going to leave the train. Finally the train reaches its destination but realizes that all the compartments are lost on the way. We see the hero walking towards the evening sun when the end title start to roll.

Analysis: The movie started sooraj Barjatya style with promise by Chiranjeevi to keep it a clean entertainer but audience were shocked to see obscenities from artists such as Shobha Rani and Posani.
Rumor has it that director Mitra has left the movie midway and producer Allu finished it.

Artists Performance: Chiranjeevi looked tired and uninterested. Although there were moments where he has shown spark by being different from other actors, he failed deliver a memorable performance. The surprise element of the movie is Pawan Kalyan who sadly disappeared 20 minutes before the climax and his character was ended abruptly. Nagendra Babu has a brief role in the beginning of the movie. Devender Goud is passable. Shobha Rani did some over acting while Padma scored as dignified lady.

Chiranjeevi in Magadheera

Many believe that megastar Chiranjeevi’s 33-year-old film career finally came to a halt after he announced his formal entry into politics and founded his political party Praja Rajyam last year! Of course, very few can manage two professions at the same time and if it is cinema and politics, let’s say ‘impossible’, especially in the modern era.

Contrary to all these unconfirmed beliefs, we now hear that Chiranjeevi, whose last film was Shankardada Zindabad (2007), is making a brief onscreen appearance in his son Ram Charan Teja’s upcoming film Magadheera, directed by S.S. Rajamouli and produced by Allu Arvind. Chiranjeevi will make his much-awaited onscreen presence in a song. Now, the fans are eagerly waiting to see both father and son together!

Set in the backdrop of the divine mysteries of death and rebirth, Magadheera is planned as an action-based romantic thriller to suit audiences of all classes. Kajal Aggarwal is the heroine. Story is by Vijayendra Prasad, dialogues are by Ratnam, styling is by Rama Rajamouli, while music is by M.M. Keeravani.

The audio launch will be held soon. Supreme Music holds the audio distribution rights. Blue Sky Cinema Inc. will release the film in the US with 21 prints in all the major cities, including Toronto.

Chiru Challenge to continue in politics

Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi said he would continue in politics and serve the people till his last breath.

He said he would strive to make the party a “political force” to reckon with in the coming days.

He ruled out going back to Tollywood and acting in films.

The PR chief added he was not disheartened by the dismal performance of his party.

Talking to this newspaper on Tuesday at the PR headquarters in Hyderabad, Chiranjeevi said: “As a film actor I was discouraged by many in Tollywood in the early days of my film career. By working hard I became a star. In the same way I will strive to make the PR a king in politics.’’

The actor-turned-politician refused to blame anybody for the party’s debacle and owned up responsibility for the defeat in the elections.

He indicated that the delay in selection of candidates and communication gap among the cadre had resulted in the party’s poor performance.

“Apart from this the vicious campaign taken up by my rivals that the party tickets were sold also affected the poll prospects of our party,” he maintained.

“These elections showed the enormous support that the PR enjoyed. We succeeded in gaining the faith of 18 per cent of the voters across the state. As many as 80 lakh people voted for the PR. It is a great achievement for a fledgling party like the PR which is hardly nine months old and which took on big parties like the Congress and the Telugu Desam,” the PR chief observed.

Chiru challenge to Ysr

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi has a double face: one innocent and other ugly.

This was stated by former Mahila Rajyam leader P Sarojini Devi, mother of film actress Pratyusha, who died in the most suspicious circumstances a few years ago. She quit the PRP just before polls, after she was denied the ticket.

Sarojini said the PRP was like a fake company, which collected money from the gullible people and cheated them later. The PRP leaders made hundreds of crores of rupees cashing in on the name and image of Chiranjeevi. “He is a doubled-faced character. He talks sweetly, but cheats the people, especially womenfolk,” she said.

She claimed that party general secretary Allu Arvind had convinced her to talk to the mothers of Swapnika and Ayesha which she did. “But after that I was badly cheated by the party,’’ she alleged.

Murali Mohan In PRP Chiranjeevi Office

Unsuccessful Telugu Desam candidate from Rajahmundry Murali Mohan met Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi at the PRP office on Tuesday and congratulated him for his victory in the elections from Tirupati.

However, Murali Mohan did it not in his individual capacity, but in the capacity of Movie Artistes Association president. Other members of the MAA – AVS, Ahuti Prasad, Brahmaji and others, also accompanied Murali Mohan to the PRP office.

They requested Chiranjeevi to take up the problems of film artistes in the assembly and solve them.

Chiranjeevi Has No Charisma At All

There was a time when he was called the demigod of the masses and was considered next to the legendary N T Rama Rao. But then, the recent election result has proved where he stands in front of the real public though he might have been something else in front of the reel public.

He is none other than Chiranjeevi and with the result that he has got, it has become clear that there is no charisma in him like most of them had assumed. This, in effect, is also a clear message to Chiru that he is miles away from NTR senior when it comes to public appeal.

Many say that Chiru was highly unapproachable and kept all at a distance but now his airs have been cut and he has been brought to the ground. While he is nowhere near an inch of being a demigod, it is about time he comes out of the dream that he is on par with NTR or there is any charisma about him.

Fan Commits Suicide as Chiranjeevi Loses Elections !

A fan of actor-turned-politician and Praja Rajyam Party(PRP) president Chiranjeevi allegedly
committed suicide on hearing about his defeat in Palacole assembly constituency in the just concluded elections.

Nalla Narayana Giri (45), a mason, consumed pesticide at his residence in Kothalanka village
of Mummidivaram Mandal in Konaseema Region on Sunday night.

He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Amalapuram where he succumbed to death on Monday morning. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

Where Are Pawan Kalyan And Nagababu

It looks like though the political parties have been coming up with tall claims of getting single majorities and forming governments, there are a few who realize the truth and have decided to keep low. And one among them seem to be the megabrothers – Nagababu and Pawan Kalyan.

It is being said that both of them are not to be seen in any press meet after elections. It is also heard that Pawan is not even in shooting and same is the case with Nagababu. Many say that post election they have shied their faces away and even the PRP party office folks say that they are not coming there like before.

However, sources close to both say that since their assignment at PRP is over, both Nagababu and Pawan are easing it out and are not too worried about the result. How much of this is true, we would know in just few days time but till such time both their absence will be causing some buzz.

Mental dogs Jeevitha and Rajasekhar Started Barking

The victory of the Congress party has emboldened star-couple Jeevitha and Rajasekhar to get back to their old business – of foul mouthing Praja Rajyam Party Chiranjeevi.

Within hours of the election results were declared, Jeevitha-Rajasekhar called for press conference and took Chiranjeevi to task. “He was a dictator in film industry. But we had to remain silent, because we didn’t want rifts in the industry. But when he came to politics, we could not remain silent. Had there not been attack on us by Chiru fans, perhaps, we would not have been after him,” they said.

The couple said Chiru could have earned more support from the people, had he conducted real blood donation, rather than selling blood.

Jeevitha and Rajasekhar are really twomental dogs dont even knew what they talk

anyway chiru will become cm of ap in 2014 elections and brings the change for us.

Allu Aravind Escaping With Rs. Crores?

Sources say that from the last few weeks the candidates those have bought tickets from Allu Aravind got doubts and are running behind him to pay back as they would like to withdraw. Even after the election they have forced Aravind to give back at least some percentage of their money as they are not sure of winning.

Grapevine says that then Chiranjeevi has come into scene and said, “Don’t worry. Even if you lose in your constituency, we are coming to power and forming government. You will be given good contracts and your money will always be safe”.

But now the result is out and Allu Aravind himself lost the game fully. We have to see if Allu Aravind gives back the money or runs away, says a victim of Rs 1.5 Cr from Ongole.

Anil Reddy, who contested from Adilabad as PRP candidate took Rs 1 Cr for 2% interest and bought the ticket. He already spent Rs 50 lakh from his pocket. He thought that the ticket is confirmed free of cost as he is close to Allu Aravind. But in the last moment Allu demanded Rs 1 Cr and hence Anil had to go for getting that for interest. Now he lost interest on PRP and is also struggling to pay interest for Rs 1 Cr as well. Even Anil is with anguish and looking if Aravind pays back at least some amount, say sources.

Parakala: 'Chiru Is Dog-Aravind Is Chappal'

arakala Prabhakar has come out. He spoke in front of media cameras. He has shared the happiness of PRP’s loss in entire state. He thanked entire population this way: “PRP ni Telanagana lo bonda pettinanduku, kosta lo paathipettinanduku, rayalaseema lo tarimi kottinanduku raastra prajalaku kritajnathalu”.

He also said with metaphor, “Cheppu thine kukkaki cheraku ruchi emi telusthundi?”. Well people might have to understand this comparison as ‘Chiru is dog, Aravind is chappal and Parakala is cheraku’. Parakala’s feeling is that Chiru lost only for going along with Aravind and not caring him.

Parakala came out and showing his vengeance this way. Grapevine says that Parakala decided to go word to word war with PRP and attract media and thereby join Congress. Let us see how far this assumption goes true.

‘Chapter Close’ For Devendour Goud?!

Devender Goud is the man who transformed from powerful position to a begging stand with his foolish political moves. He walked out from TDP and started a new party Nava Telengana. He assumed that he has huge following in public and is just next to Chandrababu in fame or following.

But he understood that his NTP is not getting any mileage in public and hence joined PRP by merging his party completely into it. PRP gave him a Lok Sabha ticket from Malkajgiri and Assembly ticket from Ibrahimpatnam where he lost both. This has proved that Goud has no stand in his own constituency itself.

Since TDP also turned pro Telengana he has no other go than begging Naidu to take him back into TDP. Otherwise his political chapter gets closed for ever, opines a political leader.

“His biggest mistake in life is joining with Chiranjeevi. He would have gone back to TDP as and when it declared its positive bent for Telengana” said the leader.

It is anyway tough time for him to regain his political career.

Parakala Said Chiru is a mental case

Former Praja Rajyam Party spokesman and leader Parakala Prabhakar is also back to Chiranjeevi biting.

Parakala held a press conference on Sunday and described Chiranjeevi as mentally disturbed person. “There is some problem with his personality. He thinks too much of himself and therefore, does not want to be available to the people. That is the reason why people have taught him a fitting lesson in the elections,” he said.

Referring to the PRP slogan: “Preme Lakshyam, Sevey Maargam”, Parakala said the slogan, in fact, should have been “Adhikaarame lakshyam, dabbey maargam” (Power is the goal, money is the way). He alleged thatthe PRP leadership had collected not only money, but also plots, flats and agriculture lands from the ticket aspirants. He demanded that Chiranjeevi return all the money and properties to the defeated candidates.

Derailed PRP rail engine crush Anti Government Vote, PRP cuts TDP Heads...

Telugu Desam lost heavily to the Praja Rajyam, according to the vote percentage each party registered in the 2009 elections. The TD got a combined average of 25.64 per cent votes in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, against 37.59 per cent in 2004. The Praja Rajyam polled about 15 per cent, pulling away one third of the TD vote base. With this vote percentage and its performance, the Praja Rajyam qualifies for recognition. It can retain its symbol as it got 15 per cent against the mandatory 6 per cent of the total votes polled. Notably, the party candidates lost deposits in 22 out of 40 Lok Sabha seats it contested. The 2009 poll statistics show that Congress got 38.95 per cent votes in the LS elections followed by the TD with 24.93. The TRS, CPI and the CPI(M) polled 6.14, 1.58 and 1.27 per cent. The combined vote of the Grand Allaince was still two per cent less than that of Congress. The BJP polled 3.75 per cent of votes and the BSP got 0.91 per cent votes. While the PR failed to open its score in the LS with 15.26 per cent vote, the TRS with half of that number won two seats. In the Assembly polls, the Congress got 36.07, TD 26.36, TRS 5.38, CPI(M) 1.89, CPI 1.3 and BJP 3.18 per cent of the votes. Though the PR’s vote percentage in the Assembly poll is not known, it is expected to be slightly above 15 per cent. The PR secured second place only in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Amalapuram Lok Sabha and 31 Assembly seats.

Shabbir Ali a bootlegger: Praja Rajyam

Hyderabad: The Praja Rajyam party today launched a counter-attack on the Congress for the personal critisism against its youth wing leader Pawan Kalyan.

Speaking at separate press conferences here today, party political spokesperson C Ramachandraiah, senior leader Khalil Basha, ideologue Kathi Padma Rao and a few women activists attacked Minority Welfare Minister Mohd Shabbir Ali, and actor couple Rajasekhar and Jeevita.

Ramachandraiah and Basha said Shabbir Ali had betrayed the oath of office that he would protect the properties of the State.

``The minister ordered sale of 100 acres of wakf property at Manikonda for Rs 427 crore and the amount went into the State’s treasury instead of the Wakf Board.’’ They also alleged that the minister had received kickbacks from Lanco Industries head Lagadapati Rajagopal.

``In Visakhapatnam about 1,300 acres of land was alienated to the Hindujas when Shabbir Ali was minister of wakf in 1994. At that time the Hindujas were asked to pay Rs 2.25 lakh per acre and they paid about Rs 37 crore for 300 acres. The present regime gave on a platter the remaining 1,000 acres at the old rate, they alleged.

In Vijayawada the previous Congress government had tried to alienate hundreds of acres of wakf land to private persons but had to retreat in the face of strong protest from the minority community.

They completed that job now, the PRP leaders charged.

Basha said Muslim religious leaders had issued a fatwa against Shabbir Ali.

Among the other charges against the government was that it did not issue the caste certificate to a single Muslim student which was necessary for getting the benefit of reservation in educational institutions.

The PRP leaders alleged that Shabbir Ali was a bootlegger and was caught while transporting teakwood illegally and his name was there in the list of those who have a bad history being published by the Lok Satta. He even diverted Haj pilgrims quota granted by the Centre to travel agents, they said.

PRP’s women leaders Nirmala Reddy and Indira Reddy warned film artiste and Congress leader Jeevita that they would had to dig into her past if she repeated personnel insinuations against Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan.

Jeevita was making the allegations to hide the differences in her own family, they said. Kathi Padma Rao challenged the Congress to prove Pawan’s allegations wrong.

``If they can do it, I would gift them a crore of rupees.’’ He pledged that the party would stand behind Pawan Kalyan in his fight against corrupt Congress leaders. The PRP, if voted to power, would constitute a commission to inquire into the corruption of Congress leaders, he said.

Undavalli Arun Kumar Won From Rajahmundry LS

Undavalli Arun Kumar has won from Rajahmundry Lok Sabha on his closest opponent Murali Mohan of TDP. Murali Mohan was fielded only to put check to Undavalli Arun Kumar.

Chandrababu and Ramoji Rao (who is said to be the man behind Undavalli’s fielding) felt that Murali Mohan’s cine glamour would put an end to Undavalli who brought troubles for Ramoji Rao with Margadarsi issue. Once again it’s proved that cine glamour would never work in front of a sincere politician who works for his party and people of constituency.

Undavalli didn’t even spend much on campaigning in Rajahmundry like Murali Mohan (TDP) did. Even Krishnam Raju (PRP) made some hungama with expensive campaigns. But Undavalli kept silent and used only local TV channel for campaigning. He moved along with YSR for interpreting the speeches of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi at that time. Many assumed that he would lose as he is not concentrating on campaigning. But people concentrated on him and brought him victory.

It’s now a shivering time for Ramoji Rao again as Undavalli said earlier that he would dig out bigger facts relating to Margadarsi after elections. Congress sources say that Undavalli has prepared a document relating to flaws relating to RFC as well. He also made a TV serial on Ramoji Rao which will be aired on Sakshi channel tentatively within couple of months. Let us see what trouble Undavalli would create for Ramoji Rao. To sign off, it has to be said that Ramoji failed in defeating Undavalli using Murali Mohan.

KCR winds up camp, drives away candidates

For once, Telangana Rashtra Samithi K Chandrasekhara Rao predicted it right. "You are in for surprise tomorrow. You will know the fate of the Mahakootami by afternoon," he told media persons on Friday.

It exactly happened on Friday. It was a surprise for Mahakootami, which faced a humiliating defeat. And as predicted, it disappeared. And KCR himself has disappeared from the scene. Within one hour of the counting began, KCR went into hiding. Not only that, he asked his party people to wind up the camp being held for the party candidates at Telangana Bhavan, providing all luxuries, so as to prevent them from being poached by the Congress.

The poor candidates could not get even lunch at the Telangana Bhavan, as they were asked to vacate the rooms and go to their respective places.

PRP President Chiranjeevi About 2009 Elections

A sense of desperation has crept into the leaders and cadres of Praja Rajyam Party. Now, one leader after the other is coming out against "selling of tickets" in the PRP.

Senior PRP leader K S R Murthy, participating in a television show, did not hide his disgruntlement.

When asked whether there is any possibility of the elected PRP MLAs would cross floor to the Congress, Murthy said there was no such chance, as the Congress would be getting absolute majority.

"Even if our leaders want to sell the MLAs to the Congress for a price, there are no takers, as the ruling party is winning with a comfortable majority," he said.

YS Jagan warned Eenadu and Andhra Jyothi News Papers

YS Jagan has won with triumphant majority from Cuddapah. With happiness filled eyes he said in front of media camera, “Andhra Jyothy and Eenadu should open their eyes at least now. Nothing can dominate ‘praja balam’.

Those two news dailies have written many wrong things about me. And now people have showered victory on me. I’m indebted to people of Cuddapah. I serve them for my life time. I don’t take even the center gives me any ministry. I stay only in the state and particularly in Cuddapah”.

Well he uttered the names of Andhra Jyothy and Eenadu as soon as he won the election. Is that an indirect ‘khabaddar’ warning for those two news dailies? We have to wait and see what his game plan will be in coming years.

Chiru about PRP defeat in 2009 elections

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi was the first opposition leader to give his reaction on the election results. He had no other option but to appear before the media waiting at the party office and give his reaction.

And he was quite uneasy and fumbling for words as he spoke to the media. He said he would humbly accept the people's verdict. "We are happy that we could win at least a few seats and I thank the people who reposed faith in us. I think we had very little time to take our social justice agenda into the people," he said.

Chiranjeevi said his party would play the role of a responsible opposition in the assembly and work for the social justice and welfare of the common man. Asked about his defeat from Palacole, he felt very much embarassed, but he regained his composure and said even in the past, many stalwarts like Indira Gandhi, P V Narasimha Rao and N T Rama Rao had faced the defeats. "Still, I thank the people of Palacole who voted for me," he said.

PRP Won Only 18 Assembly Seats and Zero Lok Sabha In 2009 Elections

After the crushing defeat of his Praja Rajyam Party (PRP), actor-politician Chiranjeevi Saturday said he respects people’s verdict and vowed to rebuild the party after analysing the results.

Chiranjeevi said he did not consider it a defeat. “It was only a first step in the grand fight. We will analyse the results and take corrective steps to strengthen the party,” Chiranjeevi told reporters.

PRP won 18 seats in 294-member state assembly and drew blank in the Lok Sabha polls.

Chiru asked his party workers not to get disheartened. “I appeal to them to take it as positive. Think the glass is half full and not half empty,” he said. Magadheera Movie Review

The actor said he had the satisfaction of launching a party with the slogan of social justice to give representation to those sections who were not properly represented.

Chiranjeevi was elected to state assembly from Tirupati assembly segment but lost from Palacole in his native West Godavari district.

YSR is the KING again

It is a great victory for Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who fought against all odds -- there were no star campaigners for the party, a united opposition, a sort of non-cooperation from within the party and entry of a new political party, Praja Rajyam, which has a backing of a strong community in coastal Andhra,

The Congress has 157 seats in the 294-member assembly, while the Telugu Desam-led Mahakutami could win only 106 seats, including 91 for TDP, 10 for TRS, four for CPI and one for CPI-M. The PRP remained a poor third with 18 seats. Others could get 13 seats, including two BJP, one Lok Satta, seven MIM and three independents.

The election results have surprised the poll-pundits, who were predicting that there would be a hung assembly in the state this time and that the seats of PRP would be crucial in deciding the fate of the new government.

There are many reasons for the victory of the Congress in the assembly elections. The main reason is that it was completely a positive vote for the Congress government. In the last five years, the YSR government had fulfilled all its promises on implementing welfare and development programmes. The schemes implemented by the Congress government fetched YSR the victory. Thus, there was no anti-incumbency factor this time. The anti-government vote, if any, was split between the TDP and the PRP. Secondly, the alliance with the TRS proved to be a nemesis for the TDP. The TRS has not only fared poorly even in the Telangana strongholds, but also spoiled the chances of the TDP. This was evident from the way the Congress won more than 40 seats in Telangana region. There was no transfer of votes even among the TDP and the Communist parties in many areas.

And the PRP also spoiled the TDP chances. Chiranjeevi's social justice slogan failed to impress the people and he heavily banked on caste polarisation, especially the Kapu factor in the coastal Andhra, hoping to eat into the Congress vote bank. But, it could only eat into the TDP votes, damaging the latter's prospects. Chiranjeevi himself lost his Palacole assembly segment in his native West Godavari district, though he won the Tirupati seat with a meagre margin of around 10,000 votes. Analysts say the TDP would have benefitted much, had there been no PRP in the fray; or there should have been an alliance between the Congress and the TDP.

Finally, the TDP's much-hyped cash transfer scheme and supply of free colour televisions to the poor also have failed to make any impact on the electorate.

When Chiru worked hard to match Charan

Ever since megastar Chiranjeevi has quit the film industry to enter into politics, there are many who say that it will be hard to get a gracious dancer and a charismatic actor like him for quite a while.

Meanwhile, there is news that Chiru is making a brief appearance in the movie ‘Magadheera’ that has his son Ramcharan Teja as the hero. This would be for a song and Chiru would actually be shaking a leg with Charan. Recalling that, Chiru is believed to have said that he had to work really hard to match the speed with Charan and all this was happening under the direction of the tough task master S S Rajamouli.

Meanwhile, the mega fans have been waiting eagerly for this movie to see both father and son together.

Big Gap Between Allu Arjun And Ram Charan

When it comes to movies of noted stars from the same family, the formula is to arrange for a gap between the releases so that the revenue on the movies does not get distributed. But there seems to be a possible hitch that might happen in the case of mega powerstar Ramcharan Teja and stylish star Allu Arjun.

Apparently, both of them are currently busy with their movies and while Charan is arriving with his ‘Magadheera’, Arjun is coming up with the sequel to his blockbuster hit ‘Arya’. Sources say that both movies are getting wrapped up around the same time so this could lead to a clash.

However, the mega family is said to be looking at creating a gap of at least 50 days between both releases so it remains to be seen who will take the first step in this one. Let us hope this is more of a family decision without affecting anyone’s egos so that all will benefit well at the end.

Who Is The Next Prime Minister

Already two phases of the elections are over and three more phases are remaining. The enthusiasm levels in the first two phases, has been normal, except for the state of Andhra Pradesh. While all India figures indicated 55% polling percentages Andhra Pradesh recorded around 65% polling.

But as the result day approaches the million dollars question seems to be ‘Who will become the next PM of India?’ Your guess is as good as mine. Though names like Manmohan Singh and L K Advani and Mayawati are predictable many political analysts feel that there may be a surprise candidate waiting.

The elections are likely to throw up a hung a parliament, and then, there will be many players who will dictate terms in the selection of the PM. The Congress is already in a negative mood; Sonia’s statements that these elections are not about selecting a PM seem to indicate this mood. Going by this Manmohan Singh may not be the next PM. It’s a wait and watch game for all. Let’s see how the mystery unfolds post 16th May.

Roja Blue Film Videos

This is the worst phase of political scenario that has been seeing the wrath of millions of Telugu population. Roja-Sobha Rani fight has shown the worst of all verbal fights in this season. A video was uploaded in youtube stating to be the nude portrayal of Roja in one of Malayalam films. The content is absolutely adult oriented as per the viewers and it is yet to be confirmed if it is real or morphed or something that of a look alike. A few months ago Roja worried that someone has sent a nude video alleging to be hers to TDP office but the party supremo discarded it knowing the truth. Just a few weeks after Roja-Sobha Rani strife this video was uploaded. That has to be underlined with political understanding, may be!!! We know the link of that youtube video but we are not giving that here due to highly pornographic-content in it.

Chiru’s last hope to Become CM

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi is reconciled to the fact that he cannot become Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh this time.

However, there is still a last hope for him to realise his dream. If Chiranjeevi gets 45-50 seats and the Congress gets around 100 seats, then he can come to an understanding with the latter to form a joint government, on the lines of BJP-Janata Dal (S) arrangement in Karnataka. And he can share the chair with the Congress nominee (YSR or DS) in turns. That is the only option available to him. The question is whether it is possible with Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in chair. Who knows, this can also be a possibility!

YS Jagan’s Role In RGV’s ‘Rakta Charitra’

The one film that has been making a lot of news both in Bollywood and especially in Tollywood is ‘Rakta Charitra’ and the man to make such commotion is none other than Ramgopal Varma. He did the same when he came with ‘Shiva’ and then with ‘Ratri’. It is time now for this one.

It is known news that the film is based strongly on the life of the slain TDP leader Paritala Ravi and it will be presented in two parts. The noted Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has been roped in to play the role of Paritala Ravi and here is the interesting bit.

Apparently, Jimmy Shergill is said to be playing the role of Chief Minister’s son in the movie who is alleged with assassination of the lead character. That role comes in second part of the script. So many have been putting the question should we understand that role as that of Y S Jagan? Let us see for more interesting things from this film.

Chiranjeevi decided on Congress?

It looks like Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi is inclining towards supporting the Congress, without Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, in the event of formation of a hung assembly.

During the political affairs committee meeting of the PRP on Tuesday, Chiranjeevi reportedly approved the suggestion that the party could extend conditional support to the Congress from outside, provided a BC would become the Chief Minister.

On Wednesday, he reaffirmed his thoughts. Referring to the demand within the Congress that a BC should become the next Chief Minister, Chiranjeevi said it was a welcome sign in the Congress party. “The social justice slogan of the PRP seems to have had its effect on the Congress, too. That is why, there is a demand for a BC chief minister in the party,” he said.

Chiranjeevi flying to America to relax

The Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi, who braved the summer sun to sweat it out in the campaign trail, is planning to take a trip to the United States to get away from it all.

“The megastar, who has been on a whirlwind tour of the state to ensure his fledgling party’s victory in the polls, is desperately seeking a break,” said a source in the Praja Rajyam. It is learnt that Chiranjeevi has been invited for a holiday in the US by his close friend, Mr Kumar, an NRI business tycoon there.

The PR chief may fly to the US at the end of this month or in the first week of May. “His tour schedule is not yet finalised,” said an aide of the megastar. “It will be decided in a few days. He needs a break to rejuvenate himself as it is first time that he has taken such extensive tours across the state.”

Chiranjeevi’s actor brothers, Nagendra Babu and Pavan Kalyan, are also planning to stay aloof from politics for the time being and relax for a while with their families. Since polls are over, both the brothers will now get back to their films.

“I will resume my film shootings now,” said Pavan Kalyan. “Shooting for the movie Komaram Puli was stopped abruptly as I got busy with poll campaign all these days.”

Other senior Praja Rajyam leaders such as Mr T. Devender Goud, Mr T. Sitaram and Mr Bhuma Nagi Reddy are also planning to go on holidays with their families.

Mr Goud is planning to visit Australia and New Zealand along with his family to relax for a week. “I am tired because of the continuous campaign,” said Mr Goud. “So I am planning a foreign tour.”

The leader couple of the party, Mr Bhuma Nagi Reddy and Ms Sobha Nagi Reddy, have also decided to fly abroad with their children.

PrajaRajyam Party win 105 seats

With polling for the 13th Assembly in the State getting over today, the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) is hoping to become a king-maker in governmentformation.

It expects to win at least 105 seats across the State and hopes that there will be a hung Assembly. Under such circumstances, the PRP would become the kingmaker and decide who should form the next government.

The PRP office in Hyderabad remained silent without any activity while the other two major parties — the TDP and the Congress — celebrated the occasion claiming that victory was theirs.

Though PRP leaders turned up at the party office, they stayed away from the media and hesitated to make any comment on the second phase of polling.

PRP president Chiranjeevi, who’s contesting the Tirupati Assembly constituency, remained in Tirupati observing the polling patterns throughout the day. He was scheduled to go to Palacole in the morning, come back to Tirupati by afternoon and return to Hyderabad.

But, he stayed back in Tirupati in the backdrop of yesterday’s incidents.

The PRP leaders hope to do well in the second phase as the turnout of women voters was phenomenal in the coastal Andhra districts.

PRP political affairs committee member P Upendra stated that youngsters and women had voted in the PRP’s favour.

“The turnout of women and youth was very good. In fact, the youth outnumbered elders. All the youth have voted for us. The women votes should go either to the TDP or come to us. My feeling is that women have voted in our favour,’’ Upendra reasoned.

The PRP hopes to win about 70 seats in the second phase and with 35 seats in the first phase, its tally may reach 105. The expectation of the party leaders is that the Congress and the TDP might get about 110 to 120 seats each, resulting in a hung Assembly. They feel happy as the party managed to put up a better fight in the second phase than the first. According to them, Chiranjeevi is going to win with impressive margins from Palacole and Tirupati.

The PRP has done very well in East and West Godavari districts and Krishna district, the party leaders opine.

They expect to win about six parliamentary seats. According to them, the PRP will win Anakapalli, Kakinada, Narasapuram, Machilipatnam, Guntur and Rajampeta parliamentary constituencies.

Candidates get into relaxing mood

The candidates, whose fate is sealed in the EVMs are now getting into the relax mood, as the second and final phase of polling was over by Thursday evening.

The candidates, who have been on hectic campaign for over the past fortnight, are tired of the laborious job coupled with the mercury heat.

Some of the candidates have left to places like Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai to cool their bodies and recoup for the counting. Interestingly, some of them, who could not move out of their respective places, are now settling in the air-conditioned rooms of the star hotels in their area, just for relaxation.

The party offices looked deserted as there are no visitors on Friday. Even the cadre who took active part in the electioneering, preferred to stay back at home and relax for the day.

However, the chief election agents of the candidates are busy compiling the audited statements of expenditure of their respective candidates as they are to be submitted to the returning officers.

The EVMs are kept in the safe custody of the returning officers in the headquarters of the Lok Sabha constituencies with heavy police guarding them round the clock.

The election officials and the police are taking a small break as they have to get ready for the counting on May 16. The officials have patted their subordinates for the peaceful and successful conduct of the polling in the two phases – April 16 and 23.

Chiru sure of winning from Tirupati, Palacole

Praja Rajyam (PRP) president K.Chiranjeevi has expressed confidence of winning the Assembly elections from both Tirupati and Palacole constituencies. He is however undecided on which constituency to resign from.
At a post-poll media conference here on Thursday, he said that he would have to consult his well-wishers and party seniors before announcing the decision, but promised to ensure equal development of both the segments.
He said that the party would win anything between 95 and 105 segments out of the 140 constituencies that witnessed polls in the second phase.
No support to BJP
Making it clear that the PR would neither support the Congress-led UPA nor the BJP at the centre, Chiranjeevi added that extension of support would largely depend on the benefits accruable to the state.
‘Desperate attempt’
Referring to the unsavoury incidents in Tirupati on Thursday, he called it ‘desperate attempt’ by the losing Congress to create havoc. To a query on whether it was proper for the Chief Minister candidate to roam around the town and keep a watch on the polling stations, Mr.Chiranjeevi replied that it was only to instil confidence among the women and elderly persons and in fact, his presence only ensured that democracy was not ‘slaughtered’.
