Road show: case booked against Chiranjeevi

The police registered a case against Praja Rajyam president K.Chiranjeevi for violating the police orders and holding road show up to midnight in the city on Friday.

According to sources, the party leaders obtained permission from the police for organising road shows at Kavali and Nellore in the district. However, the programme was delayed in Kavali as Mr.Chiranjeevi arrived late and he participated in the road show up to 11.05 p.m. on the main road in Nellore city.

“The PR leaders took permission for the road show from 4.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. We appealed thrice to Mr.Chiranjeevi not to participate in the road show after 10 p.m., but he continued the show violating the rules.

A case under Section 188 of IPC and Section 30 of Police Act has been registered and investigation is on,” said Nellore Town CI P.Veeranjaneya Reddy.
