Chiranjeevi says that he is missing Tollywood
Chiranjeevi who clapped for 100th film of actor Srikanth expressed his inner feelings about the film industry and said that he was totally missing it from the past 1 year. Actor Srikanth is acting in his 100th film which is titled as “Mahatma” which is being directed by Director Krishna Vamsi.
Bhavana will play the female lead in this film and the regular shooting will start from 16th February 2009. Chiru who hurriedly came to Hyderabad to attend this film function expressed his desire that he misses Tollywood now, but has also disclosed that he has not retired from Tollywood yet. Indirectly, the megastars hinted that he may feature in a Telugu film after summer season and will only do some meaningful message oriented films.
According to sources, Megastar is said to be confident that he will surely win the coming elections.

TDP Vs PRP Vs Congress, where is your money?
With elections within 2 months from now, political parties in Andhra Pradesh have already teamed up to face the heat. The new entry in this term of elections will be Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) which teamed up with ex TDP MLA and current leader of Nava Telangana Party (NTP) Devender Goud. TDP has formed a Mahakutami (Grand Alliance) with Telangana rashtra samithi (TRS) and the left parties leaving behind Congress as a single entity which now could probably look at MIM to join hands with them.
In this scenario let us make a few for’s and against’s the 3 big parties Congress, TDP and PRP to see which party has more chances for emerging as a winner in what could be the most fierce battle in Andhra Pradesh’s political history.

Although there are many other minor issues, these are the major one’s that could play a decisive role in people’s mind while casting their votes.
My verdict:
I’ll split my result into three parts.
Better CM among YSR, Chandrababu Naidu and Chiranjeevi is Chandrababu Naidu.
The party that could win the elections is Congress
The party that I wish could win is Loksatta (Possible? May not be now but I’m sure some day in the future it comes out to be a reality)

EC to decide on Chiranjeevi's party next week
The Election Commission is likely to decide next week on the registration of 'Praja Rajyam', the political party floated by Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi.
The Commission will hear on October 16 the application filed by Chiranjeevi seeking to register his political party, EC sources said.
The fledgling party crossed its initial hurdle earlier following withdrawal of a petition filed by a Cuddapah advocate seeking the same name for his political outfit.
A day before the mega star's launching of the party, the advocate had announced that he had applied to the Commission for registration of a party by the same name.
But later the advocate Chenna Krishnaiah informed the poll panel that he had decided to withdraw his application.
In true cinematic style, Chiranjeevi launched his party before a mammoth crowd of his fans and supporters at Tirupati on August 26.
The entry of Chiranjeevi, who has acted in 148 films, into politics has generated a lot of interest as he is expected to alter the political equations ahead of the next year's assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Tata’s Nano to roll out from Gujarat
Ahmedabad: Days after Tata Motors officially quit from West Bengal over excessive politicisation of the Singur issue, Tatas have decided to relocate their Rs 1 lakh Nano car project in Gujarat, after scouting many sites in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. A formal announcement in this regard is likely to be made by Tata group chairman Ratan Tata and Chief Minister Narendra Modi later in the day.
Several states have offered to provide necessary infrastructure and sops to Ratan Tata shortly after his announcement to pull out of West Bengal due to unrelenting opposition from Trinamool Congress to its Singur plant.
The Gujarat government has been campaigning seriously to woo investors from across the country and abroad and if the Tata Motors’ Nano project comes to Gujarat it will be a big victory for Modi.
Modi has marketed Gujarat as an “investor friendly state” in the recent past and to some extent succeeded in attracting Tatas to look at his state as a viable option.
If Tatas manage to ink a deal with the state government it would give Modi a political mileage by establishing the image of his party BJP as investor friendly as against to the Left Front or Congress.
Speculations doing the rounds suggest that Tata Motors is possibly interested in a site near Sanand, 25 kms from the western fringes of Ahmedabad for relocation of the Nano plant.
The Gujarat government has reportedly cleared the decks for the transfer of 1,400 acres of land to the Tatas and also assured them various tax sops and ready land along with connectivity with National Highway.
According to reports, the Gujarat CM will also hold consultations with his key ministers prior to his meeting the Tata Motors chairman.
TRS-Left pact is like marriage of gays!
The desperate attempts of Telangana Rashtra Samithi with the Left parties, particularly, the CPI-M, is drawing a lot of flak from all Telangana forces. They are denouncing the way TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao is hobnobbing with the CPI-M and Telugu Desam, both anti-Telangana parties.
Nava Telangana Praja Party leader E Peddi Reddy rightly described the so-called alliance between TRS and CPI-M as "marriage between two homosexuals." Both the TRS and the CPI-M seriously differ with each other on Telangana issue and how can they join hands with each other, only to defeat the Congress? Well, anything is possible in politics, my dear!
Vijayashanthi Joining With Chiranjeevi
This is something interesting. The alliances are taking new turns. There is a possible alliance between Chiranjeevi and Vijayashanti in coming elections. Talli Telangana Party President Vijaya Shanthi said that she may join with Chiru if he comes out with clear stand on Telangana. That would be the reason why Vijayashanthi hadn't blasted Chiru so far like Roja and Jeevitha.
Vijayshanthi said that she faced lot of discrimination in Film Industry as she represents Telangana region. She participated in bathukamma festival in Warangal when she expressed this.
So, we may assume a possible tie up between Chiru and Vijayashanthi.
Screaming Shakuntala for Roaring Roja
You might have heard of cat fights in the film industry but here is one 'old cat' fight that is written on the cards and interestingly it will be happening in the politics field and not the film industry. The names that are pitted against each other will most likely be Tadi Sakunthala, former mayor of Vijayawada while the other side is confirmed Roja, the lady leader of Telugu Desam Party.
There is news that the Praja Rajyam Party who are getting choked by the constant barrage of Roja on Megastar Chiranjeevi have been scouting for the right person who can counter Roja's tirade with her magnitude. And now their eyes have fallen on Tadi Sakunthala who is known for her voice and screaming first than any of her activities.
Apparently, Shakuntala had already let out her opinions when she said that Roja was inviting trouble by targeting Chiru and cautioned that it will not be long before she will be taken to task by the fans and the PRP workers. So this ladies fight should prove as a good refreshment break amidst the political heat that has been picking up the temperature.
Senior Cong leaders under attack for u-turn on Telangana
Hyderabad (IANS) The differences within Andhra Pradesh’s ruling Congress over the separate Telangana issue deepened Sunday with a section of the party men from the region targeting two senior leaders for virtually calling off their movement. A day after G. Venkatswamy and M. Satyanarayana Rao announced withdrawal from the activities for separate Telangana, other senior leaders took strong exception to their u-turn.
The two senior leaders, who were leading a movement for a Telanagna state the past few months and were targeting Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, changed their stance Saturday during a meeting of the party’s state unit, the first after D. Srinivas took over as party president.
Three members of the legislative council and other party leaders, who form part of the group of seniors, were angry over the remarks by Satyanarayana Rao that there were no seniors or juniors in the party and that they were putting an end to all their activities.
Council members P. Goverdhan Reddy, Indrasena Reddy and Kamlakar Rao said the remarks of the senior leaders would deal a blow to the Telangana movement and would discredit them among the people.
They voiced their view at a meeting of the group held at the residence of Venkatswamy, former union minister and the Congress’ deputy leader in the Lok Sabha.
According to party sources, the leaders took Satyanarayana to task.
The former state minister left the meeting in a huff.
The senior party leaders from the region had formed a separate group led by Venkatswamy to fight for a Telangana state. He with Satyanarayana was criticizing the chief minister, calling him a hurdle in the creation of separate state.
Venkatswamy, also a member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), had even led a delegation to New Delhi and was sulking after not getting an opportunity to meet party president Sonia Gandhi.
Recently, he even took another senior leader and Telangana Development Board chairman Purshottam Reddy to task for unilaterally announcing cancellation of a public meeting to be held by the group in Bhongir.
At the ruling party’s meeting called to discuss the strategy for coming by-elections to four Lok Sabha and 16 assembly seats in the wake of en-mass resignations by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), they lavished praise on the chief minister for the “far reaching” developmental and welfare programmes undertaken in the last four years.
Praja Rajyam is the only alternative to Congress
Praja Rajyam on Thursday asserted that it was the only political alternative to the ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh. “People are looking for a change which we alone are capable of providing,” said spokespersons P. Mitra and Parakala Prabhakar.
Responding to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s remarks on Wednesday that the Congress would win all except two seats in East and West Godavari districts, they said the Praja Rajyam candidates would romp home with a majrotity of 20,000 votes in every seat in the two districts.
Answering a question, they said their party would not talk of any political alliances at this juncture as it firmly believed in its strength among the people. It was fully equipped to provide the kind of governance that people wanted. “We are going ahead with the belief that every vote and every seat will be ours,” they claimed.
Dr. Mitra, who met CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat and Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury during their visit here on Wednesday, described it as a courtesy call. “They evinced interest in our policies and, given my past association with them, we discussed on how education and healthcare services could be improved. I merely offered clarity on my party’s policies,” he said.
Referring to the controversy over the secret letter written by US President George W. Bush to the American Congress on the Indo-US nuclear deal, Mr. Parakala demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh come clean and offer an explanation. “Either President Bush’s letter to the Senate is false or Dr. Singh should admit that he misled the Parliament.”
When asked about their party’s plans to highlight burning issues, especially the acute shortage of fertilizer, Mr. Parakala said the government must stop saying there was no shortage and take immediate measures to position sufficient stocks within two or three days. “Otherwise, we will launch an agitation,” he said.

Chiru's party is day-dreaming about coming to power
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh's ruling Congress and main opposition TDP on Friday made light of the claim of actor Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party that it is going to be a major political force in the state and said the fledgling outfit was only day-dreaming about coming to power.
"They are making such claims only to generate confidence about themselves. These claims are nothing but day-dreaming. TDP is the party which has upheld the self-respect of the people of Andhra Pradesh," TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu told reporters.
Asked about Praja Rajyam's claim that it would sweep the elections in Chiranjeevi's native West Godavari and neighbouring East Godavari district, Naidu said it meant that the new party would draw a blank in other regions of the state.
Earlier, TDP leader in Parliament K Yerran Naidu dismissed Praja Rajyam's claims, saying people would decide the matter.
He wondered whether the leaders of Praja Rajyam had ever participated in any people's struggles and agitations.
Congress dubbed Praja Rajyam's assertions as bombastic claims. Congress spokesman N Tulasi Reddy claimed Chiranjeevi's party had tried for an alliance with CPI(M) but was turned down.
"To cover up its embarrassment, the fledgling party is making bombastic claims of being the alternative to Congress," the spokesman said in a statement.
"Praja Rajyam's claims of being able to take on Congress, the largest secular democratic political party in the world, is a laughable matter", the spokesman said.
The provocation for the strong reactions from both the principal political parties in the state was yesterday's claim of Praja Rajyam's spokespersons that their party is going to be the alternative to ruling Congress.
"Since Congress is in power, we say that we are the real alternative to the ruling party. We say this on the basis of our strength in the state," Praja Rajyam's official spokesman P Mitra had said.
SP seeks tieup with Chiranjeevi party
Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh is meeting Praja Rajyam Chiranjeevi in Hyderabad on September 7. Film star Amitabh Bachchan mediated to bring about the meeting of Mr Amar Singh with Mr Chiranjeevi.
The development could mean holding back Praja Rajyam in the secular front. The meeting assumes significance, as it could dash all hopes of the BJP for possible electoral tieup with the Praja Rajyam in Andhra Pradesh.
The BJP was banking on Telugu mega star Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam for a possible tieup, after TDP opted for a tieup with the Left parties. If the TRS also joins the Grand Alliance, then the BJP could be isolated in Andhra Pradesh.
Ms Jaya Prada and Ms Jaya Bachchan would be accompanying Mr Amar Singh during his meeting with Mr Chiranjeevi.
Mr Amar Singh said, "The Samajwadi Party is open for a tieup with Praja Rajayam. If Mr Chiranjeevi approves of it, then it can be formalised." In fact, Mr Amar Singh said that Ms Jaya Prada and Ms Jaya Bachchan would campaign for the Praja Rajyam in Andhra Pradesh.
Mr Amar SIngh said he has kept TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu informed of the development. However, Mr Chandrababu Naidu had not extended a similar courtesy, when he decided to join hands with BSP supremo and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati. Mr Naidu had even dubbed the SP as opportunistic.
BJP Andhra Pradesh incharge Prakash Javadekar said that the BJP is not looking at electoral tieups. right now.
There is a considerable political churning taking place in Andhra Pradesh. The BJP is going ahead with the exercise of holding its internal meetings, to assess the political situation, identify candidates for the seats where it has reasonable chance and chalking out its electoral strategy.

Case against Chiranjeevi for conducting road shows
A case has been registered against the Praja Rajyam party founder and actor Chiranjeevi for conducting road shows beyond 2200 hours at Narasaraopet town here, police said.

It was around noon on Thursday when the crowds, most of them coming from neighbouring villages, started assembling at the village square. Some of them looked worried as rumour mills went round that Chiranjeevi had some health problems and the Praja Ankita Yatra could be delayed.
Their fears were set aside as it was confirmed that Mr. Chiranjeevi had resumed his tour from Jillelamudi village and would be arriving in the village in about an hour. The crowds swelled by afternoon. Women climbed onto the buildings to reserve a vantage point, while the men held on to anything they could. However, the familiar sight of revved up youth moving on their bikes was absent.
The village, part of Ponnur Assembly Constituency, a TDP bastion for a long time, was merged into Prathipadu reserved constituency in the delimitation exercise leading to changed political equations. Assistant public prosecutor G. Shanta Kumar and K. Priyadarshini are vying for the PRP ticket here.
Irrigation projects
Convoy of vehicles rolled in and Mr. Chiranjeevi, though appeared a bit tired and sweat rolling onto his cheeks, took the mike and began to address the sparse crowds. “I was thinking that I would retire happily at the end of film career. But that was not to be, as you wanted me to enter public life to cleanse the dirt in the system,” he said amidst a deafening roar of applause.
He then launched a broadside against both the Congress and the TDP for the ruckus in Assembly. “Look at the issues that they are fighting for. One leader accuses the other of amassing wealth during his rule while the other points fingers at his son,” he added.
He targeted the State Government and alleged that it had turned a blind eye to the plight of cotton farmers, who had been at the mercy of brokers ever since the CCI had stopped procurement of cotton. Finding fault with the erratic power supply, he said that he would provide quality power for 10 hours during day with a 50 per cent concession.
He faulted the State Government for launching many large irrigation projects simultaneously and alleged that projects requiring ‘thousands of crores’ had been launched to corner cuts. “We too are for development but the development should suit our needs,” he rounded off.
Later, the yatra passed through Prathipadu, Edlapadu, Chilakaluripet before reaching Narsaraopet.

PRP activists injured And 3People killed
TENALI: Three motorcycle-borne PR supporters were killed and two others grievously injured after they crashed into another motorcycle during a procession on Tuesday morning undertaken by Chiranjeevi as part of his Praja Ankita Yatra in the district. The accident took place on the Guntur-Tenali road. While two died on the spot, the third person died while undergoing treatment. The deceased were identified as Adusumilli Purnachandra Rao (33) and Alla Brahmam (30), belonging to Chakrayepalem. The injured were Veera Raghavaiah, Pasuparthi Venkateswarulu and M. Sambasiva Rao. Another incident In another incident at Tenali, two persons suffered injuries when they slipped from roof tops and fell on the road while trying to view Chiranjeevi’s convoy.

Anxiety over PRP President Chiranjeevi health condition
Anxious moments were witnessed here on Thursday morning after television news channels flashed the news that the blood pressure of Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi had gone down and would impact his yatra. But the reports turned out to be baseless after doctors attending on the star clarified that his B.P. and temperature were normal. A team of doctors led by Mr. Chiranjeevi’s brother-in-law, a Hyderabad-based personal physician, M. Venkateswara Rao, had been attending on him for the last four days. A doctor accompanying the actor said that slight fluctuations in the blood pressure was normal during the course of a long tour. The PR president prevents dehydration by regular intake of water, butter milk and coconut water, though the doctors had been urging him to avoid butter milk. “There is nothing to worry,” he said.

Chiranjeevi Dialogues In Satymeva Jayathe Movie
Satyameva Jayathey directed by Jeevitha has released today. Much to the expectation of common audiences there is a scene that’s purposefully carved to target Chiranjeevi. Rajasekhar in his introduction scene happens to see a mother beating a kid. He comes there to rescue the kid and reprimands her saying, “Why do you keep the posters of Mother Teresa on the wall of your house and do such nasty things? What service can you do to public while you can’t do justice for your own kids? Don’t mislead the people by using the posters of legendary personalities who served and sacrificed for society. They cannot be used as your brand ambassadors”. This is an indirect target on Chiranjeevi which is clearly understood by audiences and shouted in theater.
In another scene M Satyanarayana Rao, who portrayed the role of Chief Minister says to Sayaji Shinde, “Leave this party if you are insincere and brainless. Many new parties are emerging now to welcome the people like you. Go and join them”.
Well, that’s another hit on PRP which goes without saying.

I T Raids on P R P Leaders assets
Guntur: Chiranjeevi’s followers in the temple town of Amaravathi were jubilant on Thursday for a strange reason. They were celebrating after Chiranjeevi cancelled his scheduled overnight stay at Amaravathi on the last day of his tour on Friday.
Surprised? For, they believe top leaders who visit this small town located on the banks of river Krishnaveni and stay overnight face severe setbacks in their political careers. “We are relieved upon learning that our star hero would not be staying here,” said Sankara Rao, an ardent fan of the actor turned-politician.
According to locals, N Janardhana Reddy visited Amaravathi just before being asked to quit as CM by the Congress high command in 1993. Jail Singh visited the place and stayed overnight when he was the President. But his efforts at second term did not bear fruits as he had fallen out of favour with then PM Rajiv Gandhi. While many leaders fell from grace, the recent one was that of Maganti Venkateswara Rao (Babu).
He was forced to quit the state cabinet just a few days after his visit to Amaravathi. Curiously, chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy visited this town in 2004 during Krishna Pushkarams but did not go to the temple. “He skipped the temple at the suggestions of local leaders and enjoyed power for a full five-year term,” observed Mallikharjuna Rao, a local school teacher.
However, transport minister Kanna Lakshminarayana has never gone to campaign without offering prayers at the temple. “But, the god has never disappointed me,” he remarked. The PRP chief would be staying overnight at Gorantla village on the outskirts of Guntur on Friday night before leaving for Hyderabad on Saturday morning.

Megastar Chiranjeevi is getting a roaring response from the places he is going, Chiru himself stated that P R P is spreading like water under fish and is growing stronger and stronger day by day. He was over whelmed with the response he got from public during his roadshows.
But some people are thinking that Chiru is attacking Maha Kutami widely and keeping his voice low on Congress party with no much comments on Sakshi scam. Some are feeling that Chiru is slowly trying to get close to Congress party so that he would be getting hold in Center also.

Chiranjeevi says I will Never Act Again
Praja Rajyam party (PRP) president, Chiranjeevi, has said that he will not act in films any longer.
“I have listened to the producers in the past 30 years. Now, I will listen to you and serve you as a politician”.
Chiranjeevi began the day’s programme of his ongoing Praja Ankita Yatra in the district with a visit to Jillellamudi Ammavari Temple, near Bapatla, at 1 p.m.
He is scheduled to cover Pedanandipadu, Pattipadu, Edlapadu, Chilakaluripeta and Narsaraopeta.
He accused the Congress governments at the Centre and in the State of being incapable of announcing better minimum support price for paddy while the farmers of Punjab enjoy a higher MSP for wheat.
“All the projects are aimed at commissions and none of them is announced with public good in mind,” he alleged.
Outlining the broad strategy of his party, he said PRP would accord priority to irrigation projects if it came to power.
The PRP would chalk out an action plan for effective water usage and added that the party would take up certain projects on priority basis based on the immediate needs of the people.
He asked the Government why it had made lower budgetary allocations for irrigation projects if it was committed to complete them in the scheduled time.
Chiranjeevi alleged that more than 6,000 farmers had committed suicide during the Congress rule. Alleging that free power being supplied by the Government to farmers was of low-quality in odd hours, he promised to deliver 10 hours of free power and quality power if PRP came to power.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when a motorcycle and a bicycle collided during the Praja Ankita Yatra at Edlapudu.

Chiranjeevi Confident Of Victory
Prajarajyam Party will contest from Lok Sabha seats in Orissa, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the areas where sizeable population of Telugu-speaking people reside, party founder K. Chiranjeevi announced on Friday.
Expressing confidence that the party would be voted to power in the coming elections, he decried the attitude of the TDP and the Congress towards formation of separate Telangana and promised to pass a resolution in the Assembly as soon he came to power.
Talking to mediapersons at Visapalem, he termed the statement of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on separate Telangana in the Assembly on the last day of the session a deliberate attempt to divert the attention of the people and the opposition parties from the corruption charges on Saakshi.
‘Irrelevant statement’
Mr. Chiranjeevi, before setting out on the Praja Ankita Yatra on the fifth day from Visapalem near Narsaraopet, took a dig at Dr. Reddy saying: “If he could not get separate Telangana in four and half years, what can Congress do in 45 days?”

Chiru wants to do, what NTR Could Not!
Megastar and Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi is daring to do what Telugu Desam founder-president and former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao could not dare.
Chiranjeevi on Friday announced that his party, PRP, would expand its wings to the neighbouring States as well. He said the PRP would field its candidates in the parliamentary constituencies of Maharashtra and Karnataka States that are in the borders of Andhra Pradesh. He says there are lakhs of Telugu-speaking persons in these areas and it is his responsibility to take up their cause in Parliament.
It is a daring decision, because Chiranjeevi is yet to establish his hold on the State politics. Yet, he is dreaming of contesting in the neighbouring States as well. If PRP has a representation in just two other States, it would be recognised as a national party!

Jayasudha’s Satire On Chiranjeevi
Jayasudha joined Congress and on the very first day she has thrown an indirect comment on Chiranjeevi.
“What is ’seva’? I think this is the word that is widely used this year. The word ’seva’ is being used by everyone. And ’seva’ cannot be restricted to selected things. When he presented this request to the legendary NTR, the then chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, the latter was delighted. The magnanimous NTR granted a few acres of land bang opposite the LV Prasad Eye institute in Jubilee Hills for this noble cause. That was then.
Today the story has turned upside down on its head. What stands in place of a welfare association is a a posh shopping mall with cine multiplex.
Do we need to know more? Age and greed are growing simultaneous for our beloved white bearded cine bigwig, say film folks.

Power and fame are strange bed fellows. They can change a person’s character completely. Praja Rajyam party chief and Mega Star Chiranjeevi is a changed man.
The change has been apparent after the launch of his party.
The perception of Chiranjeevi has always been that of a humble and magnanimous star. But now all that is changing, he seems to be behaving in an upper hand manner and appears serious all the time within the party. Some say he is already acting as the CM.

Chiranjeevi’s Pulivendula tour a Mega Success.
Taken by the challenge by the Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Raja Sekhar Reddy, Padmabhushan Dr. Chiranjeevi today visited Pulivendula and is welcomed by a huge…huge…huge… crowds.
Till this moment even Chiranjeevi might have not expected this kind of turnout in the home town of the ‘faction leaders’. Thousands of people assembled at the venue climbing on every tall structure to have a glimpse of Chiranjeevi and responded for each and every word he uttered.
It is really amazing and astonishing moments for Chiranjeevi to cherish. He even conveyed his feelings to the gathered crowd that he will never never and never forget this memorable welcome in Pulivendula. More to that he said ‘Mogaltur is the place where I was born but I am loved by the entire Andhra Pradesh and I too love all the places equally’.
Just like in ‘Indra’ the rain also welcomed Chiranjeevi as soon as he started his Rayalaseema tour and much to that even in Pulivendula the rain drizzled and showed it joy to the ‘loved son of the soil’ Dr. Chiranjeevi.
Now it is YSR’s turn to prove his might at Mogaltur on 25th of this month.
Chiranjeevi says ‘Yes’ to Telangana
Chiranjeevi on Thursday hinted that his Praja Rajyam party would support the demand for separate statehood to the Telangana region.
Launching his ‘yatra’ in Telangana, Chiranjeevi said he would make an announcement on the issue before he winds up his visit to the region.
The actor launched the second phase of his state-wide ‘yatra’ from Sricilla town in Karimnagar district. Addressing a series of roadside meetings in the district, he hinted that he would back the demand for separate Telangana state.
‘The people of Nizam region (Telangana) love me so much. My films were all hit in this region and the people in the industry called me Nizam hero. After getting so much love and affection from you, I will not cheat you,’ he said.
Chiranjeevi said he knew the aspirations and feelings of the people.
‘I will honour your sentiments and self-respect on this issue.’
His assurance came at a time when almost all parties are supporting the demand for separate Telangana in view of the ensuing elections.
The main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) recently supported the five decades old demand while the ruling Congress party is likely to soon make an announcement in favour of separate Telangana.
Chiranjeevi’s meetings evoked massive public response like his meetings in north Telangana Andhra, which he covered under the first phase of the ‘yatra’ earlier this month.
In Sircilla town, the actor promised to help the weavers, who are facing a serious crisis. This was his second visit to the handloom town.
He promised seven hours free electricity to the powerlooms and said the would be brought under the cover of a free health insurance scheme.
Voicing concern over continuing suicides by the distressed weavers, Chiranjeevi said if his party took power, it would pay a compensation of Rs.500,000 to the family of any weaver who commits suicide.
Chiranjeevi shaping as intelligent politician
Chiru is turning out to be a true politician slowly, he is trying to place people in right place. Some people think that he is outwitted Chandra Babu Naidu in his administration talents as ‘Use and Throw’, he invited senior politicians from the political quarters of different shades and faiths much before he christened his political outfit as Praja Rajyam Party. None of them are happy now. They feel they are sidelined and ditched. To join the wagon is Mr. K.S.R. Murthy, was the earliest bird to get in groove, in order to control damage caused by Mr. Manda Krishna with his attacks on Mr.Chiranjeevi, Mr. Murthy was asked to assume the latter’s office as the secretary overnight. Mr Murthy is very popular among Dalits as a bureaucrat and politician. He went on record in Media on the contentious issues like, categorization of SCs and separate statehood for Telangana.
Mr. Chiranjeevi didn’t like some body speaking on his behalf and getting mileage. Mr. Murthy was kept aside. He is the least contacted person in the party now. Then followed with of Mr. Kathi Padama Rao, who spearheaded many Dalit Movements in Andhra Pradesh. After joining Praja Rajyam Party, he invited Mr. Chiranjeevi to the wedding of his son, which drew the attention of the media for wrong reason. His son’s bride belongs to different caste. Mr.Chiranjeevi felt for having attended the marriage and later he kept Padma Rao at distance. Dr. Mitra, one of the official spokes-persons of the party is also not happy with the way things are handled, he is well known to the world that he is architect and ideologue of the party, his importance is reduced by getting Parakala Prabhakar and making another official spokes person. Dr. Mitra is making his own group in the party with erstwhile members of Left Parties. Mr. Chiranjeevi doesn’t like any leader to be focused. This is the strategy adopted by Megastar Chiranjeevi, may be this is for good cause of the state.

Ram Charan to croon for Dad's PRP
Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan, who had a dream debut with Chiruta, will sing a promotional song for his father's party Praja Rajyam Party (PRP).
While Chiranjeevi's younger brother Pawan Kalyan leads the Yuva Rajyam (Youth wing), elder brother Naga Babu is involved in managing the day-to-day running of the mega-star's party. Now Ram Charan is pitching in with a promo song to be composed by Mani Sharma. The ace music director will also help the budding star to croon for the promotional music album.
As Chiranjeevi has acted in some of the biggest hits of the 1980s and 1990s, the PRP plans to use songs from his films as promotional material for his campaigns. Though this method is not new, the novelty lies in the fact that Chiranjeevi is the star of his films and is also the politician who will be canvassing for votes (following the footsteps of MGR and NTR).

Naga Babu to contest from Vijayanagaram
Chiranjeevi's brother Nagababu is now busy with films as well as Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) work. The actor is likely to contest from Vizianagaram for the Lok Sabha. Viziaanagaram has a high concentration of Toorpu Kapus, Chiranjeevi's caste. This fact should definitely help the actor-turned-politician.
The PRP also wants to take on Bothsa Sathyanarayana, a very vociferous critic of Chiranjeevi on his own turf and teach him a lesson.
Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi's youngest brother Pawan Kalyan was appointed leader of Yuva Rajyam, the PRP's youth win. But he will not be contesting in the elections. Pawan Kalyan is currently shooting for his film Komarum Puli directed by S.J. Suryah.
The Telugu Desam Party has roped in Junior NTR, the most famous and charismatic of the Nandamuri clan to campaign for them. The Congress has wooed superstar Krishna and his son Mahesh Babu to campaign in the hope that this will ward off the threat that PRP poses in the upcoming elections.
Srikanth Addela to direct Chiranjeevi
Srikanth Addela, who rose to fame with his low-budget teenage romance Kotha Bangaru Lokam, has now been roped in by Chiranjeevi to direct promotional films and documentaries focusing on his Praja Rajyam Party (PRP).
Chiranjeevi, who has put in over 3 decades in the Telugu film industry as actor and producer, besides various other avatars, knows that visual presentation goes a long way in impressing his fans. So he has roped in some fresh talent that does not belong to any political camp to window dress his campaign by making some very insightful documentaries and ad films on Chiru and his newly-launched Praja Rajyam Party that would stand out from the usual crop of poll-time promos.
Sources say that Chiranjeevi met Srikanth Addela and conferred with the hot shot director about how best to present Praja Rajyam Party and Chiranjeevi's party ideologies. It seems that Srikanth Addela was brimming over with ideas for the ad films and documentaries that will centre on PRP's political campaign.
These sources also claim that Srikanth Addela is being remunerated handsomely for his work.

Yuva Rajyam: Pawan Kalyan to head Praja Rajyam's youth wing
While Chiranjeevi is preparing for the elections, he is ably supported by his family members who have given him support in every way possible. In a recent development, Chiranjeevi named his younger brother, Pawan Kalyan, head of the youth wing which has been named Yuva Rajyam on Sunday.
With the launch of Chiranjeevi's political party Praja Rajyam, many young Telugus have come forward to support his cause. Seeing this, Chiranjeevi decided to launch a youth wing that would be headed by his brother. A Praja Rajyam party member commented that Pawan Kalyan's latest hit, Jalsa, gave him the image of a left-wing thinker.
In reply to charges of appointing only family members to important posts within the party, Chiranjeevi said Pawan Kalyan wasn't made Yuva Rajyam's leader because he was Chiranjeevi's brother but because of his highly developed sense of social awareness. “He has concern for the poor and those who are in pain. His social awareness is reflected in his films too,” said Praja Rajyam Party President, Chiranjeevi.
Pawan Kalyan for his part said that he would not contest the elections but concentrate his energies on building the youth wing.
